Boarding 4 Breast Cancers Skate the Lake // Tahoe
Another great weekend in the books up at Lake Tahoe - this time we were participating in the 10th Annual Boarding for Breast Cancer’s Skate the Lake, where we skated and biked 28 miles around North Lake Tahoe raising funds and awareness for breast cancer. This was our 2nd time participating in skate the lake and it is sure to always be a fun time with a lot of awesome people who really care about educating everyone about breast cancer.
Always excited to catch a sunset over Lake Tahoe
After making the 4 hour drive up to Tahoe, catching the sunset, and pitching our tent at Blackwood Canyon we were ready for some food. And we were sooo stoked to hear that Moe’s Original had opened an outpost in Tahoe City. We were getting a taste of our Vail in Tahoe which kind of meant a lot to us and brought back a lot of memories.
For Mike and I Moe’s was a place where we spent a lot of time eating amazing BBQ - Po Boys, Banana Pudding, Blackened Mahi - reminiscing about awesome days on the hill. So we were feeling good - plus their back porch - overlooking Lake Tahoe - is amazing!
Skate the Lake is really a special event with a lot of people coming to together to get active and be healthy. We are always so stoked to see all the different kinds of people who are participating and pushing 28 miles around Tahoe. We’ve met so many incredible kids and adults who really give it their all and it’s really an event we hope we can continue to attend!
The Truckee River is beautiful but is really feeling the affects of the California drought. It is so low that the rafting companies have shut down for the summer.
Celebratory beers - where else - Moe’s back deck!
Catching up with Blair from B4BC after all the festivities.
Taking in a mindful moment by the lake
And when you are able to get on the lake with some fun people it’s always a good time!
Happy Summer!
